Asobi Seksu – playful sex, indeed!

Asobi Seksu are a NY based art rock band. Their name roughly translates to Playful Sex in Japanese, and fits them perfectly. They blend a nice amount of feedback and reverb with softly sung obscure lyrics in English and Japanese, and they get some KILLER remixes done!

They were the darlings of SXSW last year, and they’re a fave for me on my running mixes. I totally recommend checking out their remixed songs too though – the Twelves remix of Thursday is amazing! But the Cassettes Won’t Listen remix of Strawberries is pretty dope too!
